    Simply put - Wavetrac is the only differential on the market that does not lose all drive when an axle is unloaded. Axles get unloaded during aggressive driving, cornering, extremely slippery surfaces, etc. It happens more than most people think.

    We won't go into torque bias ratios or the concept of how torque bias differences work at this point. Let's move on to how the Wavetrac affects performance:

    For example, you have a conventional differential (OEM, Quaife, MF, OBX, Truetrac, Torsen, etc.), you're on a racetrack for a trackday, and while cornering, your inside wheel bumps over the curb. This is normal when riding on a racetrack. The problem is that for those brief moments when your inside tire is unloaded jumping curbs, your other wheel gets no drive - no power loss. Differentials need to be loaded on both axles to work. The result on a race track (or when driving aggressively) is that a normal differential will often only intermittently deliver power to the gripping wheel.

    Now same track with Wavetrac: The patented cam device in the Wavetrac prevents loss of drive when the inside wheel is unloaded. The device is able to create a load in the differential (to replace the lost load when it happens), which can then be biased to the grip wheel - ultimately providing a smoother transfer of power through a corner. This makes the car more predictable and faster overall.

    Other advantages:
    Patented carbon fiber preload plate for the pinions. In all other transmission type LSDs, the pinions run on the housing, which means friction varies from 0 miles to 100 miles, reducing efficiency over the life of the diff. At Wavetrac the performance matches the Carbon Fiber Bias Plates!

    The beauty of the Wavetrac is that it is ideal for high performance street cars used on the race track. It is very strong yet transparent to the driver and traction control electronics during normal driving. On the track or in lively road use, it provides drive to both wheels without the handling problems that conventional clutch differentials cause (there is no tendency to push / understeer with a Wavetrac).

    The Wavetrac outperforms other differentials because, unlike them, it does not lose drive when one axle is unloaded (which is more common than you might think).

    Finally, one of the most underrated benefits of the Wavetrac is its smooth power delivery close to the limit. Its patented design provides very predictable, smooth power delivery when you need it most - when things are at the limit: on the edge of traction mid-corner and using throttle to keep it there; or coming into a corner a little hot, but quickly back on it to maintain exit speed....
