TTE350+ IS12 upgrade turbocharger for VAG 1.8 TSI EA888.3 - Maximum performance in series production housing

With the TTE350+, TheTurboEngineers presents an advanced hybrid solution specifically for the 1.8 TSI EA888.3 engine of the MQB platform. Unlike previous upgrades, the original IS12 housing is retained, but is extensively modified to accommodate significantly larger components.

Technology & structure

The TTE350+ is based on the original IS12 turbocharger, which incorporates extended tip technology. The installed 9-blade turbine is modified by clipping in order to reduce the exhaust back pressure and improve throughput. The standard trunk assembly is replaced by a reinforced 360° thrust bearing that can withstand the increased loads in the long term.

Balancing & quality assurance

As with all TTE loaders, the TTE350+ is balanced in several stages - first each individual part at up to 2800 rpm, then the entire body assembly on a VSR machine at up to 250,000 rpm. A balancing log is included and can be traced via the serial number.

Notes on the conversion

The conversion is only possible if a functioning, undamaged IS12 turbocharger is sent in. If the housing cannot be used, TTE will provide a separate cost estimate. Additional modifications to the peripherals, exhaust system, software and engine are required for the target output of 350+ hp.
